Gameplay Refinements
It's been a minute, but I have indeed been working on the project. The game now is much more polished. The title screen has not only the best splash text in the industry, but also now tells you how to actually do stuff. It features text to go to a brand new rules page, and how to begin playing. Along with this, it also has some new background music.
The game itself has also had a lot of tweaks. Cars can now turn right, and spawn mechanics have been switched to make it so they don't spawn on top of each other and crash instantly. The turning is currently only to the right, and only aesthetic, because adding left turns would change the flow of the entire game. Score decrease timing has been slightly adjusted, and the most significant change is probably the cars in line detector. Before, I would keep track of how many cars are in each lane as a whole to see when there are too many in a line, but this was often not a good strategy because it would keep causing the player to lose even though all the cars have crossed the light. This has been adjusted to only count the cars that have not yet crossed the light. This is much more fair and actually playable now.
I also added sound effects for each loss scenario and the chillest background music known to man.
Happy traffic!
