A downloadable game for Windows

This is a very simple traffic simulator in game made in C++ and using the SFML library. Game is in active development and will be updated frequently as I add new features and make it a better experience.

CURRENT STATE

BIG UPDATE FOLKS! Game is in a very good state now. I added sound effects when losing and also added extremely annoying theme song music(credit to my friend for the editing). Now, you not only can lose, but spawn mechanics have been tweaked to not cause double spawning, backed up counting has gotten much better and more accurate to allow for the most possible cars to spawn, and cars can turn right. Turning right doesn't actually change the strategy, but it does look cool. The game also has a much nicer title screen, with a rules page and actual directions for how to play.

NEXT STEPS

In the near future, there will probably be 2 main things I'm gonna work on. First, I need to change the at light behavior, specifically for turning cars, because right now if you stop the car when it is right on the light it will glitch out and turn without moving and just drive in the grass(feature, not a bug, trust). Next, I will try to add left turns. This will be a much bigger update, because it will also completely change the flow of traffic and the strategy of the game, so perhaps it will come with major difficulty adjustments, or gamemodes?

ABOUT

Hey, I'm a new game developer who is just making this game both for fun and to gain more experience in C++ and OOP. Trying my best to finish this game before next semester of college starts, because I will have a lot more coding projects then, and much less time to work on this beautfiul, completely functional, and graphically intensive game.

Install instructions

I combined both versions into one folder, so just download the one and then follow the instructions for each.

Windows

To play the game, download the zip file, extract the files, and run the application main.exe. Now windows does think that it is a virus. You can trust me, it is not. Definitely.

MacOS

I somehow figured out how to get it to run on Windows but I have no clue how to make it work on Mac. I'll try and port it at some point.

Linux

At the moment I am having trouble figuring out how to make this version shareable. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully I can get this working soon. For now, stick with the Windows version, everything works there just fine, if not better.
